Why OBGYN Came to WDD Software

OBGYN Indy had been working with a small, two-person development firm to build and maintain a confidential patient-to-doctor messaging system that was HIPAA centric.

OBGYN Indy had witnessed several other medical providers web sites hacked or accessed by unauthorized users and wanted to be sure that their existing web portal for client data was safe. A security evaluation at the request of their new IT leadership identified several risks that they wanted to mitigate.

OBGYN Indy came to WDD Software for a thorough software security review, and if any flaws were found, to provide web application remediation to quickly resolve these gaps.

Our team conducted a software security audit and revealed to the OBGYN Indy team the vulnerabilities of their current site.  The current software to their patient portal offered nominal protection for their patients – despite claims otherwise by their software provider.

OBGYN took immediate action to shut down the site immediately until a more secure platform could be put in place.

WDD Software developed a solution from scratch that provided much higher security for OBGYN Indy’s patients. OBGYN Indy now has a secure user portal that complies with HIPAA standards and protects patient information.
